1. Peer Reviewed Research Proposals
This repo will be used to carry out peer-reviews of new research proposals and will house abstracts for future work. We will try and do this every quarter.
The format for the proposals can be found here.
1.1. Why
We want to start an internal process that would ensure we end up with better proposals for the KR on publishable artifacts. This would mirror the workings of a conference in some ways. We have an areas of work doc (this is currently in the works). Everyone across the ml-team will be asked to send proposals/abstracts by a certain deadline after which they will be peer reviewed. After peer-reviews, the authors will update the proposal and submit again for a final submission.
Based on the final proposals, we will take the best/most relevant proposals and work on them further towards publishing. This would also mean, people setting aside some bandwidth to work on these towards a publishable outcome.
1.2. Dates
- 10th Jan : Slack posts requesting for abstracts.
- 24th Jan : 1st Deadline for submission.
- 7th Feb : Final deadline for submission.
- 10th Feb : Get proposals peer-reviewed
- 14th Feb : Final Submission after addressing reviews.
1.3. How peer-reviews will work ?
We will be carrying out peer reviews and submissions using github pull requests.
Some conventions to follow : - New proposal submissions are done via PRs. - 3 reviewers will be assigned to every PR and they will need to review within a week. - once reviews have been addressed the reviwer can give a go ahead by mentioning +1
- the PR will be merged only after all reviewers have given a +1.
Note : Internal guidelines for reviews can be found here and though it was written for an article, most of it applies here as well.
